- Had so much fun with our April Fool's Day show.."Light and Easy 99 point 9". We let the cat out of the bag early on Thursday's show, so the early listeners could get a kick out of the temporary format change. Then it was a couple of hours of THE most boring songs in the history of mankind; Barry Manilow, The Carpenters, Air Supply, etc. We figured we'd make some listeners do a double-take when they turned on their radios, but we didn't think anybody'd be angry...boy, were we wrong! I can't remember answering so many phone calls from so many furious people! Our little 'format-change' idea originally was supposed to end at 10:00-just before Darlene's show- but with the huge volume of angry people, we wrapped it up around 8:30 on April Fool's Day. - Thanks to Maroone Chevrolet in Pembroke Pines for having us there on Saturday. They were great..they let me test drive the new Chevy Camaro, and get this: you can buy one for around 24-thousand! I drove a red one, with a 304 HP V-6, gorgeous outside and in.. I finished the ride and pulled into the driveway, got out, walked around the car and almost fell down: the sticker on the window was UNDER 25 grand! You would think a car like that was 40 or 50, right?-nope..mine was just over 24,000 bucks. Nice. For all the people who say American car companies can't build quality?--I say: drive a chevy! --Kenny

We want to pay the bill..but where is it?! U-turn and I both worked as servers and bartenders, and I thought I new all the tricks...but she told me why SHE would take so long to bring the check to certain tables: Sometimes she'd be so slammed she needed some extra time to catch up. - Mentioned on the morning show an event that touched my heart and made me proud to be an American, and judging by the calls and e-mails we received, you're proud, too. Let me recap: Having dinner in Davie at a great restaurant called Mazzola's, and noticed a soldier having dinner with what looked to be his wife and daughter. During our meal a man next to us was getting up to leave and asked the waitress over..I overheard the man tell her "That soldier there? Tonite he doesn't pay for dinner. I've got it". I stopped the man and congratulated him for his Patriotism and his generosity and I asked him if he had served in the Military. He said he no, he hadn't. He said "I just wanted to say Thank You". Heroes. They're all around us.

PATRICK SWAYZE, 1952-2009- Tuesday, September 15, 2009
- After his long battle with pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze passed away at the age of 57. He died yesterday with his family at his side, according to his publicist. Pancreatic cancer usually gives a patient only 6-months, he battled for 20, even calling himself "a miracle dude" at one point. During that fight he went through with plans to star in "The Beast," an A&E drama where he played an FBI agent. Critics loved it. But Swayze will always be known for his classic roles in some great films including Dirty Dancing and Ghost.
RIP, Patrick.

- There's no doubt you've seen and heard the horrible news stories about the nearly two dozen horses in South Florida who have been slaughtered. Some of those horses were long-time family pets, which makes it even harder to stomach. These acts continue to happen. You can join us, Simon & Walker, in promoting an effort to put an end to it.
The Horse Rescue Project is having an Indoor Flea Market from 10-4p THIS STAURDAY at The American Legion in Cooper City, next to City Hall. After 4p, a bunch of local bands will play throughout the night. This is a family friendly event and the organizers will donate 100% of their profits to the South Florida SPCA. Meghan and Josh are cool people with great voices and they're well worth giving a listen to. - Thanks to Taylor Swift for joining us on the "Simon and Walker" Morning Show today. In case you missed it (shame on you), we learned a few things. First, she is NOT dating Taylor Lautner, her co-star in the upcoming movie Valentine's Day. Second, she has no current plans to extend her LEI clothing line to include stuff for anyone other than teens. Third, she makes 8 costume changes on her current tour. Finally, we learned that Taylor Swift is NOT dating Taylor Lautner. - One person was killed and 75 were injured over the weekend when massive storms hit the Big Valley Jamboree, referred to as Canada's biggest country concert. Billy Currington was performing when the stage collapsed. Kevin Costner was waiting next to the stage when it collapsed on top of him and his road manager. They were able to crawl to safety and Currington was okay too. Mr. Field of Dreams was actually spotted helping people escape the wreckage. Scary stuff...here's WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE as the storm approached.

- I went to put my left shoe on yesterday when I saw something moving inside. Needless to say, it kinda freaked me out. After gently shaking the shoe for a few seconds, I saw a tiny little face looking at me. I'm a big time animal lover so I brought the shoe outside and released the creature back into the wild. The lizard-like creature (still not sure what the heck those things are...chameleon???) is now safe at home. My left foot has also been put back in it's place. - We went to Tattoolapalooza yesterday at Miami Beach Convention Center and it was, ummm...interesting. There was live wild life, a ton of cool motorcycles, lots of tattoo artists from all over the country, and...a man who scared both of us badly.
