Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
The Mafia is laying off judges and Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal.
Oh Great!! The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 Trillion disappear!
And, finally...
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in Pakistan , and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Often times I am asked… Why do you play the national anthem at noon. Just to fly the flag, etc. For a while it was taken off the air and thanks to a poll by you, 97% of you voted it back on. I thank you for that.
My father was a Colonel in our United States Air Force. He was Commander of twelve sites in Vietnam. He was due to return home in one month.
To a little girl, daddy is everything. I was sooo excited, counting the days for him to come home.
One evening my grandmother dropped me off at the house after ballet class. I saw a lot of cars in the driveway. As I went in the house I saw my mother sitting on the couch with two men in uniforms. Boy… I thought daddy was home and I started to run all around the house looking for him. (We used to play hide and seek a lot). When I finally gave up, my uncle pulled me aside. He told me I had to be a big girl for my mommy because my daddy’s helicopter was shot down and he was killed.
After that was announced to me, I saw my brothers crying, mom crying, our whole world torn apart. I lost my daddy forever. It did mean that my oldest brother, who was in the Army, could come home.
I can remember in the Vietnam days, some folks were not so kind to the military. I remember thinking, I lost my daddy, he was doing his job, he loved this country and served it with his every being, and you don’t care.
Well… I care.
I thank the men and women who serve our country and I pray for the families who sacrifice.
And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. John F. Kennedy
God Bless America

Mike the Headless Chicken (April 1945 – March 1947) was a Wyandotte rooster that lived for 18 months after its head had been cut off. Thought by many to be a hoax, the bird was taken by its owner to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City to establish its authenticity.
