January 29th is The Kiss Country Chili Cookoff!!! : )))) Party of the Year!!!
It is such a fun day. C B Smith Park is the place. Gates open at 8:30. Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Clay Walker, Chris Cagle and Sonia Leigh. It will cost you $42.00 to get in.
I love to walk around and talk to all the Chili Teams. Look at their creative booths they have designed to cook their chili. It's a world class chili cookoff competition too. Sooo many vendors, you will buy something I'll bet. : )
Looking forward to hearing the Zac Brown Band!!! Just LOVE THEIR MUSIC. Both albums! Their latest album... " You Get What You Give" has one of my favorite songs on it. It is the first song on the album..."Let it Go". Might be just what you need to do for the New Year. Can't wait to hear them sing it "LIVE AND LOUD" : )
I'll see you at The Chili Cookoff. Come find me ... I'd love to meet you.
Love and Smooches.... xo dar

As you may know.... I play our National Anthem Monday thru Friday at noon for our troops overseas and here at home. Never forget them and keep them in your prayers as well as their families who are sacrificing too.
Here is a song by an unsigned Florida band named "Fakahatche". It's called the "Sunshine State". Give it a listen.... it just may touch your heart. At the very least ... remind you that there are men and women who would love to be in your shoes and be home.
Thanks to my friend Billy for sending it my way. : )

Daisy is our little yorkie mix that my daughter got for Christmas. She is such a daddys girl. She LOVES my husband. Thought it was funny.... Daisy trying to get those ice cubes at the bottom of the glass. : )

Sunday went up to Lake Okeechobee to mow our lawn and clean up. This big boy was in the backyard. : 0

Noooooo..... there was no cleaning up the dead cattails that day. The water is low up at Lake O. Almost as low as the lake was a couple years ago. Poor critters don't have as much water to swim in. Fishing is really good tho'.
My fav gospel song of all time...I just LUV IT!
Did you get a copy of the May 2011 People Country Special magazine? Keith Urban is on the cover. : )
Country's Hottest Guys.
Chris Young.... without his hat. : ) Chris said.... "I have entirely too much hair in my opinion and had some terrible hairstyles in high school, so I'd always throw on a ball cap or cowboy hat".
Mama loves the hair. : ) He is such a cutie and I just LOVE HIS MUSIC. His latest single is called... "Tomorrow". Unfortunately, the official video is not out yet, however, I did find this one.
Someone put this video together and as I was watching it I could tell they lived this song. Maybe still living it. Country music.... songs about us. I love it.
Yes.... i am an outdoor girl. Love to be outside, observing the sights and sounds of nature. If you're like me you will love this.
Eagle Cam - Check out the new babies. : )

Motel Six won't leave the light on anymore.
The Mafia is laying off judges and Exxon-Mobil laid off 25 Congressmen.
Congress says they are looking into this Bernard Madoff scandal.
Oh Great!! The guy who made $50 Billion disappear is being investigated by the people who made $1.5 Trillion disappear!
And, finally...
I was so depressed last night thinking about the economy, wars, jobs, my savings, Social Security, retirement funds, etc., I called the Suicide Lifeline. I got a call center in Pakistan , and when I told them I was suicidal, they got all excited, and asked if I could drive a truck.

Often times I am asked… Why do you play the national anthem at noon. Just to fly the flag, etc. For a while it was taken off the air and thanks to a poll by you, 97% of you voted it back on. I thank you for that.
My father was a Colonel in our United States Air Force. He was Commander of twelve sites in Vietnam. He was due to return home in one month.
To a little girl, daddy is everything. I was sooo excited, counting the days for him to come home.
One evening my grandmother dropped me off at the house after ballet class. I saw a lot of cars in the driveway. As I went in the house I saw my mother sitting on the couch with two men in uniforms. Boy… I thought daddy was home and I started to run all around the house looking for him. (We used to play hide and seek a lot). When I finally gave up, my uncle pulled me aside. He told me I had to be a big girl for my mommy because my daddy’s helicopter was shot down and he was killed.
After that was announced to me, I saw my brothers crying, mom crying, our whole world torn apart. I lost my daddy forever. It did mean that my oldest brother, who was in the Army, could come home.
I can remember in the Vietnam days, some folks were not so kind to the military. I remember thinking, I lost my daddy, he was doing his job, he loved this country and served it with his every being, and you don’t care.
Well… I care.
I thank the men and women who serve our country and I pray for the families who sacrifice.
And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country. John F. Kennedy
God Bless America

Mike the Headless Chicken (April 1945 – March 1947) was a Wyandotte rooster that lived for 18 months after its head had been cut off. Thought by many to be a hoax, the bird was taken by its owner to the University of Utah in Salt Lake City to establish its authenticity.
